This was a request…
HOLY CRAP.
SOOOOO FULFILLED - THIS REQUEST IS SOOOOOO FULFILLED!!!
EVEN BETTER THAN I’D HOPED!!!!
GORGEOUS. JUST GORGEOUS.
Thanks!! I wasn’t sure cause I know you like kinda low contrast stuff. Anyway, thanks for reblogging my drawings. I can’t help but notice I never get any notes on anything until you reblog it :P
awww - you pay attention to my photographer-obsessed comments about monochrome/saturation and my infatuation with low contrast or high contrast blaaaak :D I feel the love!
YES! Low contrast makes your eye work for the detail more, and that slows down your ability to take in the photo…so you actually spend more time and process it better. I really like feeling my visual processing slow down and travel over the detail in a photo or drawing - the visual processing issues that I have mean I seldom see something really thoroughly, and low contrast helps me do that. *heart!*
By the same token, there are times when deep blacks and vivid contrast are great, too, because they let the entire photo hit your awareness in one smack to the eyeballs. WHAM :D the FoD album cover was processed for that effect - I adjusted the curves so severely that it’s pretty much all black or all white - no detail, only essentials.
Weird that someone who has so little capacity to process things visually…dabbles in and is obsessed with visual art :D
(now I have a couple of your drawings that I want to beg for high-rez copies of :D)
(and hey - I may as well Use My Powers For Good - if me reblogging awesome stuff gets it seen by the people who’ll love it, that’s all for the good!)
Effie has the most swag out of them all.
